Things to do in Warsaw

Your choices for things to do in Warsaw are limited only by your own preferences and imagination. Take in the cultural and artistic sights, get in touch with nature, or learn about the history of this ancient city. Whatever you do, you can do it all with your Eurail Poland Pass.

Get into the old and the new

Escape the hustle and bustle of central city life and explore the contradictions and class of Warsaw’s Old Town (Stare Miasto) and New Town (Norwego Miasta). Charming squares and cozy cafés create a unique atmosphere that blends a modern feel with a feeling of history. In the summer, the Old and New Town squares become stages for musical and theatrical performances and open-air galleries.

Blend a little nature with your culture

16th and 17th century ‘park-palaces’ abound in Warsaw. Browse through the living- and working quarters of royalty, then wander through the manicured parks, formal gardens, lakes and streams of the Łazienki Królewskie Park Palace, and the stunning two-level Baroque Gardens of the Wilanów Park Palace.

Get a view, give a review

You should come to the Palace of Culture and Science (Pałac Kultury i Nauki) for the spectacular view from the 30th floor observation deck, from which the panoramic view of Warsaw is unmatched. Stay for the concerts, performances, displays and films that are on showcase at this cultural mecca in the center of Warsaw. The building itself is the tallest in all of Poland, and the embodiment of Socialist Realist architecture.

Explore a tortured past

Warsaw was, in part, shaped by the violence and struggle of its past. 2 museums distinctly capture the significance of that struggle. The Warsaw Rising Museum (Muzeum Powstania Warszawskiego) focuses on the Warsaw Uprising in 1944, during Poland’s struggle for independence.

In the National Museum (Muzeum Powstania Warszawskiego) you'll find a collection of art, sculpture, military history and royal artifacts.

Walk in Chopin’s footsteps

Fryderyk Chopin, the most well-known resident of Warsaw, lived the first 20 years of his life here, growing to maturity, studying music, and giving his first concerts. Tour his favorite haunts and the places he performed. See the sights that pay homage to his talent and explore the world’s largest Chopin memorabilia collection.
