Learn more about Croatia with Eurail

Eurail Passes are train Passes for flexible rail travel throughout Europe. There are several Eurail Passes available if you want to visit Croatia. This country is situated in Southern Europe on the east side of the Adriatic Sea, to the east of Italy. Croatia's coastal areas are especially stunning. A stunning coastline that winds around innumerable bays and is laced with almost 1100 islands offshore: Croatia’s coast really is the new Riviera and has a dream spot for every taste. More and more travelers are also discovering the country’s cultural charm. One of the most beautiful cities is Dubrovnik, a wonderfully rebuilt medieval walled city. The capital Zagreb is a must-see destination too, as it combines the best of Western and Eastern culture and has a wealth of beautiful Austro-Hungarian architecture.

Croatia by train

There is a greater railway network in the north and east of Croatia than the other parts of the country. But the rail network does connect all major Croatian cities, except Dubrovnik. Sadly there is no coastal train service, buses are more common transport there. There are three types of trains: local trains usually have only unreserved second class seats, but reservations may be required on express trains. ‘Executive trains’ only have first class seats.
