The spas
The Czech Republic has three world-famous spa towns: Karlovy Vary (Carlsbad), Mariánské Lázně (Marienbad) and Františkovy Lázně (Franzensbad). Relax and unwind and then after you’re done, be sure to visit the areas’ historical sites, including the stunning castles and chateaux.
The beer
With nearly 500 different kinds of beer in this country, it’s no surprise that it’s the Czechs’ national drink. Be sure to “sample” of their world-famous light and dark lagers.
Southern Moravia
If you love wine, this is the place to be. With its extensive vineyards and lovely hillsides, this region is also great for cycling, hiking and sightseeing. Be sure to visit the many abysses and caves in the area.
Night on the town

Muzejní Noc (Museum Night)
On this night, museums come alive with thousands of people! It only happens once a year, but when it does, it’s not to be missed. About 50 Czech towns and cities leave their museums open to the public and admission is free!
Krkonoše (Giant Mountains)
This mountain region is the perfect place to discover the great outdoors. It’s home to Sněžka, the highest mountain range in the Czech Republic, and it’s perfect for both winter and summer sports.
Water fun
The Czech Republic offers many places to enjoy the water, including rivers, lakes, dams and reservoirs. You’ll enjoy canoeing, swimming, yachting, windsurfing and more at places like the Lipno Water Dam and the Lužnice River.
Holašovice
Spend the day at this 13th-century South-Bohemian village. In this village you will find almost two dozen farmhouses featuring lovely gardens and beautiful Baroque architecture. If you like seafood, this is also the place to be. The area is known for its fish industry.
Kroměříž
This town located in Central Moravia is nestled at the foot of the Chřiby hills. Be sure to see the well-preserved Baroque Kroměříž chateau and its lovely gardens.
Český Krumlov
Located in the South of Bohemia, this pretty town features a complex of 300 historical buildings and is home to many big festivals, including the International Music Festival, the Festival of the Five-petalled Rose and more.
When to travel to the Czech Republic
