You are only allowed to travel in the countries where your Eurail Pass is valid. It is not permitted to travel through a country not covered by your Pass, even if you don't have to change trains in that country.
If you want to travel in a country not covered by your Pass, you will need to buy an additional ticket for that section. You can buy this ticket locally at a train station. Show your Eurail Pass at the ticket window and explain where you want to travel. You will only need a ticket from the border to your destination. It is best to buy this ticket this before boarding the train, because buying tickets on the train is often more expensive and you may even risk being fined.
Example: you plan to travel from Munich (Germany) to Venice (Italy) with a Select Pass 3 Countries valid in Germany, Italy and France. You are not allowed to travel the fastest route, because that would take you through Austria. There are three possible solutions:
