You can apply for financial compensation for train delays, when you suffer of 3 (three) or more delays over 60 minutes each (in EU-member states). These delays can be spread over the period of validity of your Eurail Pass.
The first date of validity of your Pass must be 3 December 2009 or after. On this day the new Passenger Rights and Regulations (PRR) came into force.
On the Eurail Group website you can find more information and the compensation request form. You must send your compensation request to the Eurail Group GIE within a 6 months after the last validity day of your Eurail Pass. In the compensation request form you can find the address to send your request to.
Compensation is possible for holders of a Eurail Global Pass, a Eurail Select Pass (3, 4 or 5 countries) or a Eurail Regional Pass.
Requests by holders of a One Country Pass may be submitted, but they will be forwarded to the respective railway. In some cases non-European Union Members will not pay any compensation.
