1. Destinations: Where in Europe do you want to go?

The popular choice: The Global Pass
Visit as many highlights of Europe as possible? The Eurail Global Pass is the popular choice. You can travel endlessly by train in and between 21 countries. Visit Rome, Paris, Amsterdam, Prague and much more, all with one Rail Pass!

The personal choice: The Select Pass
The Eurail Select Pass is your personal choice. Pay only for the countries you need! You can select 3, 4 or 5 of your favourite countries, as long as they are bordering. Combine for example France, Italy & Spain.

The specific choice: One Country and Regional Passes
Looking for a short holiday break in 1 or 2 countries? Choose from 17 One Country Passes, for example the Italy Pass. Or pick one of the 25 Regional Passes, for example the Austria - Switzerland Pass.

2. Validity: How long and how often will you travel?

Each Eurail Pass comes in various durations. You can buy a Global Pass for 15 days up to 3 months. The Select Pass starts from 5 days.

Take a train nearly every day? Then choose a Eurail Pass with a continuous validity. Example: with the Global Pass 21 days can you travel on 21 consecutive days.

Travel once every few days? Then choose a Eurail Pass with a flexible validity. Example: the Global Pass 15 days within 2 months. You are free to choose the 15 days on which you want to travel, during a period of 2 months.

3. Discounts: Do you qualify for youth or group discounts?

Each Eurail Pass offers various discounts:

  • Are you under 26 on your first day of travel? Then you can get a discounted Youth Pass, available for 2nd class only.
  • Two adults or more can get a group discount by buying a Saver Pass. You need to be traveling together, since you share one Pass.
  • Children under 12 can travel with a cheap Child Pass. Children under 4 travel for free.

4. Comfort: Do you prefer 1st or 2nd class travel?

First class train seats offer more space and comfort. Eurail Youth Passes are only available for 2nd class travel. Most Adult and Saver Passes only have a 1st class option.

  • Youth travelers who prefer 1st class, can buy an Adult Pass or a Saver Pass.
  • A 1st class Eurail Pass is also valid for 2nd class train travel.
  • To travel 1st class with a 2nd class Eurail Pass, you can buy a supplement locally.
