Eurostar Italia

Eurostar Italia AV is a network of modern high-speed trains in Italy. AV is short for Alta Velocità, which means High Speed.

Routes

Eurostar Italia trains operate all over Italy. A recently introduced highspeed line connects Milan with Bologna in just over an hour. Thanks to the introduction of new Alta Velocità trains, there will be shorter times for journeys connecting to Florence, Rome and Naples.

Some of the Eurostar Italia travel times:

  • Bologna - Milan: 1 hour 5 minutes
  • Milan - Venice: 2 hours 20 minutes
  • Rome - Milan: 3 hours 30 minutes
  • Rome - Venice: 3 hours 59 minutes
  • Rome - Naples: 1 hour 21 minutes

Eurail Pass holders

Eurail Pass holders have to pay a 10 euro supplement, both in 1st and 2nd class. This fare includes the compulsory reservation.

Services

All coaches are air-conditioned. Catering services are provided by coffee bars or sit-down restaurant car. First class reservations include a small snack and a hot or cold drink served at your seat. On morning trains a daily newspaper will be offered to you. In the stations, special lounges are dedicated to AV travelers, who will find there an elegant and relaxed atmosphere.
