SuperCity

SuperCity is a high-speed train that operates from Prague to bigger cities in Czech Republic. In southern direction it goes on to Austria and Slovakia. These 'Pendolino' trains run at a speed of up to 200 km/h. 

Routes

SuperCity operates on the following routes:

  • Prague - Ostrava (northern line, travel time about 3 hours)
  • Prague - Vienna / Bratislava* (southern line, about 4 hours)

* The Eurail Pass is not valid in Slowakia. If you want to visit Bratislava, you need to buy an additional ticket from the Czech border to Bratislava.

Eurail Pass conditions

Reservation for the SuperCity trains is compulsory. The reservation fee for 1st and 2nd class is CZK 200 (about € 7). You can make reservations at a train station or through the Czech railways eShop.

Services

The trains have restaurant cars with bar sections. Passengers in 1st class in SuperCity trains are provided with a simple snack and a newspaper. There are also power sockets and an audio system in first class.
