Routes

Allegro trains run on the following route:

  • Rome/Milan/Venice - Salzburg/Vienna - Prague

Allegro trains connect daily Italy, Austria and the Czech Republic with 4 night trains and two day trains (Venice-Vienna). In Venice there are domestic Trenitalia trains with connections to/from Milan/Torino and Florence/Rome.

Eurail Pass conditions

The Eurail Pass is valid on the Allegro train, but you have to pay a supplement for the sleeping accomodation. Reservations are always compulsory on these train If the Eurail Pass does not cover the entire section of the journey, the payment of the “Partial Pass fare” will be required.

Average supplements:

  • seats (2nd class only): EUR 5
  • couchette (6-bed compartment): EUR 25
  • couchette (4-bed compartment): EUR 35
  • bed in triple sleeper: EUR 45
  • bed in double sleeper: EUR 75
  • bed in double sleeper with private shower and WC: EUR 85
  • single sleeper bed: EUR 105
  • single sleeper bed with private shower and WC (first class only): EUR 125

* Please note that not each type of accommodations is available on all trains.

Special Features:

The Allegro trains feature fully air conditioned coaches. They carry couchette and sleeper compartments, as well as luxury sleepers to travel more comfortable with a wc & shower inside your own cabin.

The night trains have a restaurant car. Depending on the route and your accomodation your reservation might include a bottle of water, morning breakfast, toiletry kit and newspaper.
