Special Features
There are daily departures from station Paris-Bercy in the evening, with arrival in the Italian city centers next morning. Artesia de Nuit trains call at the Italian stations Torino, Verona, Padova, Bologna, Parma. First class sleepers passengers can make use of Club Eurostar service, available in some Italian railway stations.
Eurail Pass holders
Eurail Pass holders pay a special fare for this night train, which is subject to availability. Prices are dependent on the type of accomodation. They range from 25 euro for a bed in a 6-person couchette compartment to 75 euro for a bed in a 2-person sleeper compartment.
On the Artesia website you can find the fares for various routes. Price level 'Pass 1' is for Passes that are valid in France and Italy, 'Pass 2' is for Passes valid in France or Italy. Advance reservation is compulsory.
7pm rule
Note for holders of a Eurail Pass with flexible travel days: the trains on the route Paris to Rome and vice versa leave a few minutes before 19.00 (7pm). Travelers are nonetheless allowed to inscribe the date of the next day into the travel calendar.
Please note that Artesia de Nuit trains from Paris to Verona, Padova and Venezia and from Paris to Parma, Bologna, Firenze and Roma v.v. pass through Switzerland. Eurail Passes must be valid in France and Italy (Switzerland is NOT necessary). At all times, travelers must have a passport valid for travel in Switzerland.
