If your Eurail Pass is valid in Italy, you can make use of various free or discounted ferry crossings.

If your Eurail Pass is valid in Italy and Greece: free aircraft type reclining seats / dormitories (see examples) for 1st class Pass holders / free deck passage for 2nd class Pass holders.

If your Pass is only valid in Italy, you get 30% discount.

Seasonal surcharge: June and September € 10 per person; July and August € 20 per person. Fuel surcharge is extra & port taxes are € 7.

Eurail tipPass Benefit Rules
There are a few rules concerning benefits. Free benefits can only be used during travel days, discounted benefits can be used during the overall validity of the Pass. When using free international ferries, the Pass must be valid in the country of departure and the country of arrival. For reduced international ferries, the Pass must be valid in the country of departure or the country of arrival. Benefits can be obtained locally from the involved companies.
