If your Eurail Pass is valid in Switzerland, you can make use of discounted boat trips, reduced railroad travels and other benefits.

Benefits can be obtained locally by showing your Pass, or contact the benefit partner by mail or phone to make reservations.

Eurail tipPass Benefit Rules
There are a few rules concerning benefits. Free benefits can only be used during travel days, discounted benefits can be used during the overall validity of the Pass. When using free international ferries, the Pass must be valid in the country of departure and the country of arrival. For reduced international ferries, the Pass must be valid in the country of departure or the country of arrival. Benefits can be obtained locally from the involved companies. Some rules for using Pass benefits

Usually extra Pass benefits can be obtained locally by showing your Eurail Pass. Sometimes you can make reservations in advance through a call centre or website of the company concerned.

Travel days
If a benefit gives you free transportation, it requires the use of a travel day if you have a Eurail Pass with flexible validity. In case of an overnight ferry, you may enter the day of departure or the day of arrival in your travel calendar. If a a benefit only consists of a discount, it is not necessary to use a travel day.

Ferry crossings
For free passage on international ferry routes, your Pass must be valid for the country of departure AND the country of arrival. In case of discounted passage, your Pass must be valid for the country of departure OR the country of arrival.
