Ferries
Travel between Denmark, Germany and Sweden with Scandlines Ferries
Ferry between Denmark and GermanyEurail pass holders can travel for free on the routes:
- Rødby Færge – Puttgarden (Germany)
- Helsingør – Helsingborg (Sweden)
Booking information
It is not necessary to make a reservation. Scandlines ferries depart every 30-40 minutes. Simply go to the Scandlines dock and present your Eurail pass to get on board.

Rødby Færge is a 2 hour train ride from Copenhagen. The ferry terminal is in walking distance from the train station.
Helsingør is a 45-minute train ride from Copenhagen. The harbor is in walking distance of Helsingør’s train station.
Travel from Denmark to Sweden with Stena Line ferries

Frederikshavn is a 5 hour train ride from Copenhagen. The ferry terminal is a 10-minute walk from Frederikshavn’s main train station. You can also take bus 973X (destination Aalborg busterminal) to Frederikshavn Færgehavn (1 stop).
Grenå is a 4.5 hour train ride from Copenhagen. Bus line 1 operates between Grenå’s train station and the ferry terminal.
