Eurail benefits in Denmark

Overview of Copenhagen's Denmark inner harbor

If your Eurail pass is valid in Denmark, you can benefit from discounted ferry crossings between Germany, Sweden and Norway and other cheap deals offered by our partners.

You can take advantage of benefits locally by showing your Eurail pass, or you can contact the specific benefit company in advance. The discount offers only apply during the validity of your pass. Free passage on trains, busses or ferries is only valid on travel days.

Travel from Denmark to Norway with Fjord Line ferries

Eurail pass holders pay a special fare on ferry crossings between:

  • Kristiansand – Hirtshals

  • Langesund – Hirtshals

  • Bergen – Stavanger – Hirtshals


During low season  you'll receive a 20% discount. During high season (June 17 – August 14) you'll get a 10% discount.


On the route Langesund - Hirtshals there is a 20% discount all year round. Fjord Line also offers a 50% discount on air-seats on board the ships MS Stavangerfjord and MS Bergensfjord.

Travel with a discount on the Nordjyske Jernbaner

Eurail pass holders get a 50% discount on these routes, run by private railway company Nordjyske Jernbaner:

  • Frederikshavn-Skagen

  • Hirtshals-Hjorring

Travel directly from Copenhagen to Berlin

Travel by bus between Denmark and Germany on the following route:

  • Copenhagen-Berlin

Pass holders with a Global Pass need a reservation only (regular reservation fee). Pass holders with a Pass which is not valid in all countries through which the bus passes need a reservation and a ticket for the section not covered by the pass.

Tickets and reservations are available at railway ticket windows in Germany or by calling the DB.
