To take advantage of these offers just show your Eurail pass or contact the company, that offers the benefit, directly. Free travel offers are only valid during travel days, whereas other benefits apply during the entire validity of your pass.
Ferries
Travel between Greece and Italy with Superfast Ferries International
Ferry in bay, GreeceWith a Eurail pass valid in Greece and Italy, you can travel on the routes:
- Patras – Ancona (Italy) (Operated by Anek Superfast)
- Patras – Bari (Italy)
- Igoumenitsa – Ancona (Italy)
- Igoumenitsa – Bari (Italy)
- Corfu – Bari (Italy) (sailings during summer period only)
Eurail pass holders with a pass valid in Greece AND Italy are entitled to free deck passage. Holders of a 1st class pass are entitled to travel for free in dormitories* or air type seats. If your pass is valid in Greece OR Italy you'll get a 30% discount on full fare rates.
* Dormitories are not available on the ferries that operate on the routes:
- Patras (Greece) – Igoumenitsa / Corfu (Greece) – Bari (Italy)
- Bari (Italy) – Igoumenitsa / Corfu (Greece) – Patras (Greece)
Please note that passholders do have to pay seasonal surcharges, port taxes and fuel surcharges.

Igoumenitsa can be reached by bus from Thesaloniki in about 4 hours.
Free and discounted ferry travel on international routes with Minoan Lines
Ferry between Greece and ItalyWith a Eurail pass valid in Greece and Italy, you can travel for free on the route:
- Patras – Igoumenitsa – Ancona (Italy)
2nd class pass holders travel for free on the deck and 1st class pass holders get free airline-type seats between Italy and Greece.
Eurail pass holders with a pass that is valid in Greece or Italy receive a 30% discount on this route.

Eurail pass holders get free admission to the Athens Railway Museum when presenting their passes.

International trains suspended in Greece
Unfortunately, the Greek national railway company OSE has suspended all international trains indefinitely.
This means that you can not travel by train from Greece to Bulgaria, FYR Macedonia or Turkey.
There's currently a limited service running on domestic trains in Greece.
