You can obtain benefits locally by showing your Eurail pass, or you can contact the specific benefit company in advance. The discount benefits only apply during the validity of your pass. Free passage on trains, buses or ferries is only valid on travel days.
Ferries
Set sail for Denmark with Scandlines ferries

Booking information
It is not necessary to make a reservation. Scandlines ferries depart every 30-40 minutes. Simply go to the Scandlines dock and present your Eurail pass to get on board.

Helsingborg central station is located next to the ferry docks. The passenger terminals can be reached from the central station by foot.
Travel to Finland, Estonia or Latvia with Tallink Silja Lines ferries

Ferries with destination Riga depart from Stockholm Frihamnen. Buses can take you from Stockholm Central station to the terminal. The buses depart from the City Terminal. Visit the Tallink Silja lines website for other options.

From the Central station, take bus 31 to Malmö Frihamnen (2 stops from the station). From there it’s a 5-minute walk to the terminal.
Travel from Sweden to Denmark with Stena Line ferries

From Göteborg Central station, take tram 11 to Masthuggstorget (6 stops from the station). From there it’s a short walk to the Stena Line passenger terminal.
Varberg’s ferry port is a 10-minute walk from the train station.
Destination Gotland

Nynäshamn can be reached by train from Stockholm in 1 hour. The ferry terminal is in walking distance from the train station.

Buses
Take the bus to cross the border
Eurail pass holders can travel for free on the following routes that aren't covered by rail:
- Haparanda – Tornio (Finland) – Kemi (Finland) (Veljekset Salmela)
- Haparanda – Luleå (Länstrafiken Norrbotten)
Just show your Eurail pass to the driver when you board.

Trains
Travel to Denmark and Norway
A pass valid in Sweden covers:
- direct SJ trains to and from Copenhagen and Copenhagen Airport.
- direct border crossing trains from Göteborg and Stockholm to Oslo.
Travel with the Berlin Night Express
Eurail pass holders get a discounted fare on this overnight train that operates on the route:
- Malmö – Berlin (Germany) (including the ferry crossing Trelleborg – Sassnitz)
The reservation of a couchette or a bed is compulsory. You can travel overnight for just €19 in a 6-berth couchette or for €39 in a 2-berth compartment in an exclusive sleeping car.
Your pass only has to be valid in Sweden.
Please note: this train only runs March 30 - November 4.
SJ Lounges
Holders of a 1st class Eurail pass have free access to the SJ lounges in Stockholm and Göteborg.
