If your Eurail pass is valid in Sweden, you can get great deals, cheap ferry crossings to Germany, Finland and Denmark, or free bus travel.
You can obtain benefits locally by showing your Eurail pass, or you can contact the specific benefit company in advance. The discount benefits only apply during the validity of your pass. Free passage on trains, buses or ferries is only valid on travel days.
Set sail for Denmark with Scandlines ferries
Eurail pass holders with a pass that is valid in Denmark and Sweden can travel for free on the route:
- Helsingborg – Helsingør (Denmark)
It is not necessary to make a reservation. Scandlines ferries depart every 30-40 minutes. Simply go to the Scandlines dock and present your Eurail pass to get on board.
Helsingborg central station is located next to the ferry docks. The passenger terminals can be reached from the central station by foot.
Travel to Finland, Estonia or Latvia with Tallink Silja Lines ferries
Eurail pass holders pay special fares on Tallink Silja Lines ferries that operate on the routes:
- Stockholm – Riga (Latvia)
- Stockholm – Mariehamn – Turku (Finland)
- Stockholm – Mariehamn – Helsinki (Finland)
- Stockholm – Tallinn (Estonia)
In high season you receive a 20% discount. In low seaon a 40% discount.

Travel to Germany with Finnlines ferries

Take bus 35 from Malmö City Centre. Get off at the bus stop Aspögatan and switch to bus 34 (destination North harbour). From the bus stop Hemsögatan it's an approx. 1 kilometer walk to Lappögatan. A taxi from Malmö Central Station to Lappögatan costs approximately SEK 150.
Travel from Sweden to Denmark with Stena Line ferries
Eurail pass holders receive a 20% discount on the routes:
- Göteborg – Frederikshavn (Denmark)

From Göteborg Central station, take tram 11 to Masthuggstorget (6 stops from the station). From there it’s a short walk to the Stena Line passenger terminal.
Varberg’s ferry port is a 10-minute walk from the train station.
Eurail pass holders pay special fares on ferry crossings from mainland Sweden to the island of Gotland on the routes:

A pass valid in Sweden covers:
- direct SJ trains to and from Copenhagen and Copenhagen Airport.
- direct border crossing trains from Göteborg and Stockholm to Oslo.
Holders of a 1st class Eurail pass have free access to the SJ lounges in Stockholm and Göteborg.
