On each travel day you have access to the train networks of the countries where your Eurail pass is valid. If you’re planning to travel by train on most days of your trip, a pass that’s valid e.g. 2 months continuous* will give you the freedom you want. With this type of pass each day can be used as a travel day, but of course you’re not required to travel every single day! If you’d like to take unlimited trains on a select number of days, pick a pass with which you can travel e.g. 10 days within 2 months. What is a travel day?

A travel day lasts 24 hours from midnight to midnight. On each travel day you have access to the train networks and participating ferry companies where your Eurail pass is valid.

What does 5, 6, 8 or 10 days within 2 months mean?

A pass with 5, 6, 8 or 10 days within 2 months means that you get 5, 6, 8 or 10 travel days during which you can travel by train within a 2 month period. Travel days are flexible so you can decide on the go when you use each one.

Does it matter which country I start in?

No, you can start your trip in any of the countries you choose for your Eurail Select Pass - 3 countries. You can even travel back and forth between countries as much as you like.

Can I travel in countries where my pass is not valid?

No, your pass only allows you train travel through the 3 bordering countries you select. If you want to travel in a country that is not covered, you'll need to buy a separate ticket that covers that part of the journey. You can do so at the local train station of that country. Check the map to find out which countries are considered bordering countries.

Are reservations included in my pass?

No, reservation fees are not included in your Eurail pass. Train reservations are required on some high-speed and international trains and most night trains.
