Eurail Pass Return: Refund and Exchange

Have your travel plans changed? Did you have to cancel your trip unexpectedly? Those things can happen.

In case you want to return your Eurail Pass you can choose between an 85% refund or an exchange for a different Eurail Pass.

A refund or exchange of Eurail Passes is only possible:

  • within 1 year after the purchase of your Eurail Pass (the issue date printed on the Pass).
  • if your Eurail Pass is unused and unvalidated. A partially used Pass is not refundable!
  • for Eurail Passes purchased directly from Eurail.Com.

Refund of a Eurail Pass

If your refund request meets the criteria stated above, we offer an 85% refund of the Pass price that you paid. Shipping charges are not refundable.

How to apply for a refund:

  • Contact our customer service by e-mail or telephone for return instructions. You can find the contact details for your region in your order confirmation email or invoice.
  • Send the unused Eurail Pass(es) back to the provided address, via a traceable method.
  • Briefly explain the reason for your refund request and apply for the 85% refund.
  • Once we receive the unused Eurail Pass(es) back, the money will be refunded to the credit card or payment method that you originally used for the purchase.

Please note: a refund can take from a few days up to three weeks to appear on your account, depending on your credit card company.  

Exchange of a Eurail Pass

Have your travel plans changed? We can exchange your Eurail Pass(es) for another type of Eurail Pass, if this better accommodates your trip schedule.

You will only pay an exchange fee of 15 euro per Eurail Pass. Shipping charges are not refundable. 

How to apply for an exchange:

  • Order the new Eurail Pass through www.eurail.com.
  • Contact our customer service by mail or phone. You can find the contact details for your region in your order confirmation email or invoice. Provide us the old order number, the new order number and request a Eurail Pass exchange.
  • Send the unused Eurail Pass(es) back to the provided address, via a traceable method.
  • When we receive the unused Eurail Pass(es) back, we will process a 100% refund minus the EUR15 exchange fee per Eurail Pass.
