Eurail Trips booking terms

Our Booking Terms define the conditions of your purchase on Eurail.com. You must agree to these conditions before completing your purchase.

Refunds, cancellations and exchanges

  • Refunds made within 48 hours after payment to Eurail.com are subject to a 40% cancellation fee. After this period, the cancellation fee is 100%.

  • In the unlikely event that the reservations required for the Eurail Trip on the specific date requested by the customer cannot be made and the customer does not wish to travel on another date suggested by Eurail.com, Eurail.com has the right to cancel the Eurail Trip and provide the customer with a 100% refund.

Delivery of the package

  • Delivery times stated on the website and in emails are indicative only. Eurail.com does its best to deliver the pass on time, but will not be held responsible for any loss or damage suffered from late arrival of the pass or any other delivery problems, specifically not if the delay is caused by the postal service or courier. Delivery of the Eurail Trips Travel Pack is always free of charge.

  • Immediately upon receipt, please verify that all ordered products have been delivered. If the Travel Pack is incomplete, please contact our Eurail Trips support team at trips.support@eurail.com within 48 hours.

  • If the package does not arrive on time, please contact our Eurail Trips support team: trips.support@eurail.com. Eurail.com will work with the client to find a satisfactory solution.

Travel conditions

  • All bookings are accepted and all passes and reservations are issued on the express condition that Eurail.com is not responsible nor liable for any loss (consequential or otherwise); damage (including, but not limited to, loss of, or damage to passengers' clothes, baggage, property, whatsoever); death, injury, delay, inconvenience or irregularity caused by, or arising from, or in connection with, any defect in any train, vehicle or other land or sea conveyance used, rented, or traveled in; or through the negligence, willful misconduct, strikes, or other acts, defaults, or omissions of any railroad carrier, car rental or other provider of goods and services.

  • Travel with a Eurail pass is subject to the conditions, tariffs and regulations imposed by the European rail, shipping, bus or other companies, firms, or persons concerned. These conditions include making compulsory reservations on specific trains in some countries for any train journeys that are not included in the Eurail Trip itinerary.

  • Complaints about Eurail.com's service, website and the fulfilment of orders made with Eurail.com can be sent to: trips.complaints@eurail.com

  • Complaints concerning the Eurail pass product, such as the way the pass works, train quality, railway staff (including confiscated passes), strikes or the fact that certain trains have limited seats or require reservations must be addressed to the Eurail Group G.I.E, the company that manages the Eurail product.

Country of Residence

You can use a Eurail Trip if you are a resident of a non-European country. You are considered to be a resident of a country if you have been living in this country for longer than 6 months on the first day of validity of your Eurail pass.

Residents from these countries are not entitled to buy a Eurail pass and therefore a Eurail Trip:
Albania, Andorra, Austria, Belarus, Belgium, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Cyprus, Denmark, Estonia, Faeroer, Finland, FYR Macedonia, France, Germany, Gibraltar, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Moldova, Monaco, Montenegro, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, San Marino, Serbia and Kosovo, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, Ukraine, United Kingdom or Vatican City.

Train staff will check your residency in your travel document, so make sure that you bring the right documents.

Train reservations

  • A reservation is a printed ticket that provides a seat or sleeping accommodation for a specific transportation service.

  • Reservations are made with the information that you provide to us via the booking process such as your start date. The customer is responsible for the completeness and accuracy of this information.

  • It is possible that not all trains can be reserved on the date and time requested in the Eurail Trips booking. In the event that your chosen train date and time cannot be reserved, we will strive to find a suitable alternative.

  • Reservations can only be used on the specified service, date and time stated on the ticket.

  • Travel with a reservation made through Eurail.com is subject to the conditions, tariffs and regulations enforced by the European rail, bus or other companies, firms, or persons concerned.

  • If you miss a train connection because of a delay or strike, please try to arrange getting on the next train by purchasing a Eurail pass reservation at the international ticket window, keep any tickets and receipts and contact our customer service team within 24 hours. In our system we will review your claim and cover the cost of replacement reservations if your claim is deemed valid.

  • Complaints concerning delayed or cancelled trains that have been reserved, train quality or strikes must be addressed to the Eurail Group G.I.E, the company that manages the Eurail product.

  • Payment is made in Euros, US dollars, Canadian dollars or Australian dollars.  You can pay by PayPal or with one of these major credit cards: Amex, Mastercard, Visa and Discovery. Credit card payments are processed securely by PayPal. 

Other

  • Eurail.com has been appointed by the Eurail Group G.I.E. as a Eurail General Sales Agent and is authorized to act as an intermediary between travelers and the European Railway companies that are members of the Eurail Group G.I.E by means of selling Eurail passes.

  • Every booking accepted is subject to a fraud check. Potentially fraudulent bookings will be manually reviewed,  and the customers will be contacted,  if needed. This will happen within 48 hours after booking, during business days. Eurail.com is not responsible nor liable for any loss (consequential or otherwise); damage, delay, inconvenience or irregularity caused by, or arising from, or in connection with this process.

  • Travel insurance is recommended.

  • Travelers are responsible for ensuring that they have all necessary travel documents and visas.

  • Prices are subject to change without prior notice.

  • Prices indicated on the website are per person.

  • Eurail Trips have to be booked a minimum of 21 days in advance.

  • When a first class reservation is not available for any train on the desired day, Eurail.com will contact you to discuss options for either a 2nd class reservations or adapt the itinerary.

  • The customer is responsible for being at the train station on time to catch the train matching to the itinerary.

  • The customer is responsible for bringing the Eurail pass, reservations and valid identification (passport, visa when required) during the journeys. Copies are not accepted.

  • Eurail Trips is a new product by Eurail.com, it’s a travel package consisting of a 1st class Eurail pass and the necessary train reservations for a predefined popular itinerary . In your package you will also find  printed timetables for all your journeys and a brochure containing extra information and travel tips.

  • Flights, accommodation and meals (unless specified) are not included in the offer.

  • Hotel and hostel bookings are carried out by our selected partners HotelsCombined and Hostel World. Eurail.com cannot be held responsible for any changes, refunds or complaints with hotel bookings, nor for changes to hotel reservations caused by train delays, strikes, etc. Any queries regarding hotel bookings must be dealt with by the selected hotel or hostel partner.
