The Bürgenstock Railway is the oldest electric funicular railway in Switzerland and is located in the heart of the country.
Please note that the Bürgenstock Railway is closed due to renovations of the Bürgenstock Resort. It will reopen in 2017.

Bernina Express

  • Route: Chur - Tirano (via Samedan - Pontresina)

  • Discount: Eurail passes are valid on the entire Bernina Express journey. Seat reservations are mandatory only for the special panorama train and bus from Tirano to Lugano (these are 2 separate reservations). Prices are CHF 14.00 on summer and CHF 10.00 in winter. The regional train that operates on this route is also included in your pass.

The Jungfrau is one of Switzerland's most popular mountains. There are four different railway companies that operate in the mountain's area. If you want to travel to Europe's highest railway station you'll have to use a number of private railway companies. To help you plan your trip, here we list the trains that you'll need to reach the top of the Jungfrau from Interlaken Ost.

With BLM you can travel from Lauterbrunnen to Grütschalp with an aerial cableway. Mürren can be reached by using a narrow-gauge railway from Grütschalp.
