Eurail offers 841 different Pass combinations!
There are four main types of Eurail Passes:
Global Pass - Select Pass - Regional Pass - One Country Pass.
These Eurail Passes are subdivided into these categories:
- Adult: represents the normal fare price
- Saver: is available when you travel together with 2 or more persons on exactly the same trip. These Saver Passes are about 15% cheaper than the Adult version.
- Youth: is available when you are aged 12 up to and including 25. Youth Passes are mostly only available in 2nd class.
Here are some guidelines to help you choose the most suitable Pass.
1. How many countries would you like to visit?

Notes:
- Select Pass: make sure the countries of your choice border each other somewhere.
- Regional Pass: the country combinations are fixed, not every country combination is available.
- National Pass: not all countries offer a National Eurail Pass.
2. How old are you?
| Aged 26 or older | Adult or Saver version |
| Aged 12 up to and including 25 | Youth, but Adult or Saver is also allowed should you prefer 1st class |
| Aged 4 up to and including 11 | You’ll pay 50% of the Adult version |
| Aged up to 4 | Free of charge * |
* The national railway companies assume that a baby can sit on an adult’s lap.
3. Number of travel days
Do you want to travel by train almost every day, or do you only need some travel days within the time of your holiday ?
- When you choose a Select Pass or Regional Pass you will have a number of travel days within a period of 2 months. You can choose yourself when you want to have a travel day. You can use them non-consecutively.
- The One Country Passes have the same system: some travel days within a period of 1 or 2 months.
- With the Global Pass you can choose whether you want the travel days to be continuous or not. The options are 10 or 15 travel days within a period of 2 months, or 15 days, 21 days, 1,2 or 3 months consecutively.
Classes
Some Passes, like the Global Pass Adult, are only available in 1st class, others just in 2nd class and sometimes you can choose which class you prefer.
- Eurail Global Pass valid in 20 countries
- Eurail Select Pass valid in 3, 4 or 5 countries
- Eurail Regional Pass available in various country combinations
- Eurail One Country Pass valid in 1 country
