Can I return my pass for a refund?

If your plans change and you can no longer go on your European rail trip, you're entitled to an 85% refund as per our Booking Terms. You must not have traveled with the pass, and you must also meet certain conditions.

You can apply for a refund if:

  • Your pass has not been activated yet (no dates of validity have been entered on the pass and no dates have been entered in the calendar boxes).

  • Your pass has been pre-activated via our online service, but you return it to us before the starting date of its period of validity.

  • Your pass has been pre-activated via our online service, but a European railway official renders your pass NOT USED before the first day.

Log in to your Eurail account for instructions on how to return your Eurail Pass (bought from and apply for a refund. You can apply for a refund within one year after the pass was issued. When applying for a refund please don't forget to include your order number.

It usually takes up to 4 weeks to process a refund. The exact date depends very much on the bank and/or credit card company involved. You can check the status of a refund in your account.

Refunds should always be requested from the agency or website where you purchased the pass. That means we can only refund passes that were bought from A order number always starts with EU.
