June 10, 2014
You may experience disruptions when traveling in Sweden due to a strike on certain routes. It is not known how long the strike, held by railway company Veolia, will last. If you plan to travel in Sweden, carefully read our travel advice.

Routes affected

The strike affects the routes from Malmö to Gothenburg, Växjö, Kalmar and Karlskrona, as well as the "Snälltåget" service between Stockholm and Malmö. It also affects the international route from Malmö in Sweden to Copenhagen in Denmark.

Replacement buses

Replacement buses are running on some of the affected routes, such as from Malmö to Copenhagen and Copenhagen Airport. These buses are included in your Eurail pass. If there is no replacement bus available on your route, you may have to look for alternatives. Always check at the train station to see if the strike affects your travel plans.
