If you ordered your pass at, you can take advantage of our reservation service. We know reservations can be a hassle, so let us help you with them!

  • Reservation period: From 3 months to 8 days before departure from your shipping address.

  • Delivered to you anywhere in the world: 1-4 business days after payment by free registered post.

  • Cost: Train reservation fee (varies per train, see full list) + 8 euro booking fee per train. 

  • Train bookings: You can book up to 8 different trains at once with us.

As this is a new service, we are only able to offer assistance in English and Spanish.

How to book your reservations with us

Make your itinerary and request train reservations

  1. Order your Eurail pass online from

  2. Plan your route using the Eurail timetable. The timetable will show you if the route you have looked up requires a reservation. You will see a pink 'R' symbol when a reservation is needed. When you need to connect trains, make sure you allow enough time - we recommend at least 15 minutes.

  3. Use the reservation booking form form to fill in the details for those trains that need to be reserved in advance.

     Allow a minimum of 8 days to complete the booking before you leave your shipping address. Traveling together? Fill in 1 form to make sure you sit together! If you haven't received your Eurail pass yet, you can still make reservations.

What happens next?

  1. Our reservation team will check if there are seats available on your chosen trains and get back to you within two business days. Note: availability on preferred trains or class is not guaranteed.

  2. We"ll send you a reservation overview with a payment link. Please check this carefully before making the booking final by paying.

  3.  You can pay by PayPal or with one of these major credit cards: Amex, Mastercard, Visa and Discover. Credit card payments are processed securely by PayPal. To find out in which countries it is possible to pay through PayPal, check the full list here. You need to make payment within 2 working days of receiving the overview,as this is the length of time we can hold an option on the reservation.

  4. Once payment has been made, you’ll receive a confirmation email from PayPal. We will then print and mail your reservations using a registered service. We’ll send you a delivery confirmation once we’ve done this that includes a track & trace number so you can check the status of your package. Expected delivery is between 1 and 4 business days.

Frequently asked questions

  • Which trains can't be reserved with the Eurail reservation service? 

    The Eurail reservation service is able to make reservations for 95% of European trains. Below you will find the trains that can't be reserved through our service.

    We are unable to make reservations for the following trains:

    • The Renfe-SNCF high-speed train connecting France and Spain. If you want to take this train, you can:
      -Make reservations at a train station in France or Spain. 
      -Take a direct train between Paris and Portbou (across the Spanish border) and continue with domestic trains.

    • Night train Paris-Milan-Venice (Thello). Find out how to book the Thello.

    You can find alternatives for the TGV and Thello in the Eurail timetable. Read the instructions on that page for more information.

    We are unable to make reservations for 1st class cars in Spain, domestic trains in Portugal, and international trains in the following countries:

    • Bulgaria

    • FYR Macedonia

    • Greece

    • Montenegro

    • Serbia

    • Turkey

  • What are the costs of a train reservation? 

    The costs of a train reservation consists of two different fees:

    • Train reservation fee: Prices vary considerably depending on the train. See list of train reservation fees

    • Booking fee: 8 euros per train with an unlimited number of travelers per train. This covers the booking process and printing of your reservations.


    Example: A 1st class reservation for 2 travelers on the Thalys high-speed train from Paris to Amsterdam costs: 2 x 62 euros train reservation fee + 8 euro booking fee = 132 euros.

  • How can I pay for my reservations? 

    Once we have checked there is availability for your requested reservations, we will send you an invoice that includes a payment link. You can pay via PayPal or with one of the following credit cards: Mastercard, Visa, Amex or Discovery. Credit card payments are processed securely by PayPal.

  • What happens if I don’t pay for my reservations within 2 working days? 

    Once we send you an option for your reservations, you have 2 working days to make payment. After this time we can no longer guarantee that the reservations are available. Please contact Eurail to find out if you still have time to make your payment.

  • If we book together, will we be seated together? 

    Yes, if you submit your booking request together, you will be seated near or next to each other. If it turns out we can't book seats together, for instance when the train is fully booked, our team will contact you.

    Please note that you can book up to 5 trains with a single reservation form. If you submit separate reservation forms for the trains you want to book, they won't be processed at the same time. As a result, we can't guarantee you'll be seated together.

  • My train is fully booked. How can I find alternatives? 

    You can find alternatives for your train in the Eurail timetable. Be sure to read the explanation below the timetable carefully. It will help you find a different train or perhaps a different route.

  • My reservation tickets haven’t arrived. What should I do? 

    If your reservation tickets have not arrived within 4 business days after making payment, you should check the track & trace number that we sent you in your delivery confirmation email. If there's a problem, please contact TNT

  • Can I receive my reservations as e-tickets? 

    No, your reservations are only available as paper documents, just like the Eurail pass. We will send them to you by registered mail. It's not possible to print the reservations for yourself or have them e-mailed to you.

  • There's an error on my reservation ticket. What should I do? 

    If the details on your reservation ticket are incorrect, email us at, including your booking reference number and a copy of your tickets with details of the error.

  • Can I get a refund for lost or stolen tickets? 

    No, there is no refund for lost or stolen reservation tickets. Our Pass Loss & Theft Cover only applies to Eurail passes. If you lose your reservation tickets, you will have to make new reservations, for instance at the train station.
