Train reservations in the Czech Republic
It is possible to make online reservations for certain domestic and international Czech trains on the website of the Czech railways (ČD). All prices are shown in CZK.
The reservation can be printed at home on A4 format. If you are unable to print out the documents yourself, you can retrieve them from a ČD international ticket counter for a fee of CZK 50 (2 euros).
How to make a reservation online with ČD
Go to the ČD e-Shop. Proceed with the standard steps to fill out the departure and arrival stations. The important thing here is to select ‘place reservation only’, as shown on this image.
The number of passengers must be chosen on this page. Note that when a separate ticket is booked for each passenger, it might increase the final price. On the next page you can select the type of accommodation for the train.
It also gives the option to choose exactly which seat or sleeping facility to be reserved. For most trains it is possible to visualize every wagon and choose specific seats. To choose a seat, just click on expanded entry.
It will open the train visualization window, where you can select your seat.
The order can be finalized with payment. The following payment methods are available in the ČD eShop: MasterCard, Maestro, Visa, Visa Electron, Diner’s Club and Paysec. To purchase seat reservations online, registration at the ČD website is possible, but not mandatory.
