Eurail Pass and overnight trains
Eurail Pass holders only pay a supplement for the sleeping accomodation. Supplements can vary from 3 euro for a reclining seat to 100 euro for a private sleeping cabin. See also the page Reservation fees for night trains.
You can make a reservation in advance at a train station or through a travel agent. See also the page How to make a reservation. Tip: sometimes you can buy the supplement from the train staff if the train isn't fully booked.
Note: It is common practice in night trains that you hand over your Eurail Pass and passport to the train staff in the evening. You get them back in the morning before you leave the train.
