The Berlin Night Express is the only direct train connecting Germany and Sweden. This comfortable Swedish train links the German capital Berlin with Scandinavia overnight.
The Berlin Night Express runs on the route Berlin - Malmö (Sweden).
Conditions for Eurail Pass holders
Holders of a Eurail Global Pass or other Eurail Passes valid in Sweden pay a reduced price for sleeping accomodation in a double sleeper or a couchette. Reservations are compulsory.
Prices for holders of a Eurail Pass valid in Sweden (1st or 2nd class):
Double sleeper: 39 Euro
Couchette (6 beds in each compartment): 19 Euro
You can make reservations at train stations in Germany and Sweden, or through the Swedish railways SJ or the German railways DB.
Prices may be different when a reservation is made outside Europe.
Schedule
The Berlin Night Express runs between April 1st and November 1st from Berlin Hauptbahnhof-Lehrter Bahnhof. It does not run at all during the winter time between November and Easter. Only between May 2nd and August 23rd there is a daily train. It takes approx. 9 hours to travel from Berlin to Malmö.

Services
The sleeping cars have comfortable double compartments, partly with own shower/WC, and the couchette cars have spacious 6-bed compartments. Beverages and light meals can be ordered and served in the compartment. During the ferry crossing Trelleborg-Sassnitz hot meals are also available. In the morning breakfast is served at a reasonable price.

Connections
Berlin is a hub for rail connections with all parts of Germany and Central Europe. From Malmö you reach Copenhagen in 35 minutes by regional train over the new Øresundsbron bridge. Long-distance trains run to Gothenburg and Stockholm with good connections to Oslo, Bergen, Narvik and Helsinki.
