This is the famous scenic train link between St-Moritz and Zermatt in Switzerland. It's a panoramic trip through the Alpine heartland of Switzerland, and a memorable way of traveling from the eastern to the western Swiss Alps. The journey lasts 7:30 hours. It passes through 91 tunnels and crosses 291 bridges and the 2033 m high Oberalp Pass.
The Glacier Express runs on the following route:
- Zermatt – Brig – Disentis – Chur – St.Moritz

Conditions for Eurail pass holders
Eurail passes including Switzerland are valid between St.Moritz and Disentis, but are not valid between Disentis and Zermatt. However, holders of a Eurail pass are entitled to a 25% discount on the additional tickets in this section. Seat reservation, or dining car reservation, at extra cost, is compulsory.
Special features
The new 1st and 2nd class panorama cars are air-cushioned, air-conditioned, wheelchair-accessible and are considerably quieter than the previous generation of rolling stocks. The new interiors are elegant and pleasant and the improved information system is available in six languages. The Glacier Express runs daily during Summer and Winter seasons and offers 1st and 2nd class coaches, panoramic coaches and a dining car.
