Rhine Valley Line in Germany

This scenic train runs in Germany between Koblenz and Mainz. For about 100 kilometers (62 mi) the train passes alongside the river Rhine that winds through a picturesque valley.

High above the surrounding mountains numerous medieval castles and fortresses are greeting the travelers. Enchanting small towns and villages alongside the river invite you to explore their charm and to enjoy their hospitality.

Highlights

Highlights are the fortress of Ehrenbreitstein in Koblenz, the castles of Marksburg, Stahleck, Katz and Maus or the Pfalz castle on an island in the river bed. There are many other places worth a visit too. Cities like Bacharach, St. Goar or Rüdesheim are completing the unique picture of this beautiful landscape.
