This scenic train route runs between Koblenz and Mainz in Germany. For about 100 kilometers (62 mi) the train passes alongside the river Rhine that winds through a picturesque valley.
Highlights are the fortress of Ehrenbreitstein in Koblenz, the castles of Marksburg, Stahleck, Katz and Maus or the Pfalz castle on an island in the river bed. There are many other places worth a visit too. Cities like Bacharach, St. Goar or Rüdesheim are completing the unique picture of this beautiful landscape.
