What is my country of residence and where can I find it on my Pass?
Your country of residence is naturally the country in which you live and/or have citizenship. You were given the option to select your country of residence during check-out, and it can be found on your Pass by tapping the “I” icon.
Can I travel in my country of residence with a Global Pass?
Your Interrail Pass is not valid in your country of residence. However, you can use a Global Pass once to travel away from, and once to travel back into your country of residence. These two trips are called the outbound and inbound journey:
- Your outbound journey can be used to travel from any location in your country of residence.
- Your inbound journey can be used to travel back to your country of residence.
Can I travel on more than one train in my home country?
Absolutely – you can travel on more than one train, provided all legs of your journey are taken within the same travel day.
How do I add the outbound and inbound trips to my Pass?
The app will prompt you by asking if you wish to use your outbound or inbound journey. Once added; the journey will show up in your trip with an “Out/In” badge and then you will be allowed to make this journey in your country of residence. Your ticket for this day will also indicate that you’ve used one of these journeys.
Do I need to be online?
You need to be online to add these journeys to your Pass (but once added, you can enjoy the view and travel offline).
Can I travel in my country of residence with a One Country Pass?
This rule does not apply to One Country Passes; they can only be used in the country which they are valid for.
