Show your Eurail Pass to receive your discount or special offer or contact the specific company in advance. The benefits apply during the validity of your Eurail Pass, whereas free and discounted travel on trains, buses or ferries is only valid on travel days.

Eurail pass holders with a pass valid in Turkey get a free ferry crossing on the route:

Just present your Eurail pass when you arrive at the dock.

There is a direct train connection from Istanbul to Tatvan, which takes almost 42 hours. Passenger trains operate from each terminus to the ferry ports. The ferry from Tatvan to Van takes about 4 hours. The train continues from Van.
In Van you can take the Trans-Asia Express train to Tehran (capital of Iran). There is also an international train in the other direction to Damascus (capital of Syria). Your Eurail pass is not valid in Iran or Syria.
