Find a Eurail Pass
- Do I need a Eurail or an Interrail Pass?
-
A Eurail Pass can only be used by non-European citizens or residents. European citizens can use an Interrail Pass instead, available from Interrail.eu. If you are not a European citizen but you can prove that you reside in Europe, you can also choose to use an Interrail Pass.
Still not quite sure? Fill in our handy Residency Tool to find out! - How can I choose the best Eurail Pass for me?
-
There are 4 key things to consider when choosing a Eurail Pass.
- Do you offer any discounts?
-
Yes, we offer the following discounts on Eurail Passes:
- What is a travel day?
-
A travel day lasts 24 hours from midnight to midnight. On each travel day you have access to the train networks where your Interrail Pass is valid.
- How many travel days do I need?
-
On average, it will only take 1 travel day to go from one European city to the next. For instance, you can use 1 travel day to get from Berlin to Paris and another travel day to go from Paris to Madrid.
- Where can I get help with planning my Eurail trip?
-
With every Eurail order, you will receive a map and a pass guide. In the 'Plan your trip' section of our website, you can find the Eurail timetable, railway maps, reservation info, and other useful links.
If you need more advice on trip planning, please contact our customer service.
You can also ask fellow Eurailers for advice on our popular Facebook page. - Do I still need separate train tickets with a Eurail Pass?
-
Your Eurail Pass will serve as your train ticket on most trains. With it, you can get on trains run by National Railway Companies, without additional train tickets or supplements.
However, keep in mind that many European high-speed and night trains require reservations. This is to ensure that every traveler has a seat or a bed. When boarding one of these trains, you will need to have both your Eurail Pass and your reservation with you. - Can I use my Eurail Pass for travel within a country?
-
Yes, you can enjoy travel on domestic trains within the countries where your Eurail Pass is valid. Do keep in mind that high-speed trains often require a reservation.
When traveling from one country to another, make sure that your Eurail Pass is valid in both countries. - Can I travel back and forth between countries?
-
Yes, you can visit the countries included in your pass as many times as you want, and cross the borders between them as often as you like. Use national and international trains to create your ideal European travel itinerary.
If you travel through a country where your pass is not valid, you'll have to buy an additional ticket for that part of the journey. More information about this can be found here.
