Trains in Latvia are operated by Pasažieru Vilciens. The main hub is the capital Riga. All trains in Latvia are regional and for most of them it's not possible to make reservations.

International trains
There are no direct international trains from Latvia to neighbouring countries. However, there are connections (with a change of trains) to Estonia and Lithuania.
Latvia to Estonia: Riga - Valga line
The last stop of the Riga - Valga line, is on Estonian territory. Here you can change to an Estonian train directly to Tallinn or other destinations in Estonia.
Please check timetables of both the Latvian Railways and the Estonian Railways, since schedules are not necessarily well connected.
Latvia to Lithuania: Riga - Daugavpils line
Currently, there is no international train between these countries. At Daugavpils station in Latvia, you can catch a bus to Turmantas and change to a Lithuanian train that goes to Vilnius or other destinations in Lithuania (note: these buses are not included in your Pass).
International ferries
Latvia has great connections to Sweden and Germany These ferries are not included in the Pass, but Pass holders can get a discount on their passage. Check the benefits portal for more information on these ferries:
Ferries to Germany:
- Liepaja (Latvia) - Travemunde (Germany): this route is offered by Stena Line and takes approximately 27 hours.
Ferries to Sweden
- Riga (Latvia) - Stockholm (Sweden): this route is offered by Tallink Silja and takes around 17 hours.
- Ventspils (Latvia) - Nynäshamm (Sweden): this route is offered by Stena Line and takes around 7,5 hours.
Reservations
Reservations in Latvia
You can make reservations on 2 routes in Latvia, for all other trains there are no reservations possible:
Riga - Daugavpils - Indra | Once per day there is a train on this route with a comfort class section (additional fee € 1.40). For this specific train it's highly recommended to make reservations.
This train also stops at the following stations: Ogre, Aizkraukle, Plavinas, Krustpils, and Līvāni |
Riga - Rezekne II | Once per day there is a train on this route with a comfort class section (additional fee € 1.40). For this specific train it's highly recommended to make reservations.
This is only valid for part of the route: Riga - Rezekne This trains also stops at the following stations: Ogre, Aizkraukle, Pļaviņas, Krustpils, and Viļāni. |

Latvian train stations
The central railway station in Riga is the main station in Latvia. All domestic routes leave from this station. There are several services you can make use of:
