''We will weather the storm''

An update from Carlo Boselli, General Manager of Eurail

April 9, 2020

On behalf of our company, I would like to express our immense gratitude to all of the heroes working on the front line and compassionate best wishes for those directly impacted by Coronavirus (COVID-19) during this difficult time.

As individuals and as a company, now is the time to take action in the spirit of a united global community. Our company has been diligently following the recommendations of the government authorities. Accordingly, we continue to advise our customers not to travel and all our staff continue working from home. The actions that we all choose to take now will contribute to the end of the pandemic.

For the past few weeks, we’ve been working hard to help our travelers who were on the move or had to change their plans. We are happy to learn that experts are seeing clear signals of the decline of new cases of Coronavirus in some European countries. This gives us hope that we will weather the storm, and a borderless European travel experience will one day be a reality again. We look forward to that time, when we will be able to welcome you back to Europe, especially those who are patiently waiting after postponing their Eurail trips.

Our world may feel very small at the moment, and the future may seem uncertain, but we're taking strength from the stories of resilience and the renewed feeling of togetherness. Having additional time at home also gives many of us the opportunity to reflect on our passions and dreams, which in the rush of the day to day ''business as usual'' can too often be neglected.

As a passionate train traveler, I’m taking this time to consider the diversity and richness of Europe yet to be explored, and will be all the more grateful for the days when this will again be a possibility.

Warm regards,

Carlo Boselli

General Manager Eurail
