Now at your fingertips, the new Eurail and Interrail Mobile Pass
As per today, the Eurail and Interrail Global Passes are available as a mobile Pass offering an easier, paperless and more flexible travel experience. With everything on one app, from planning a trip to boarding the train. The traditional paper Pass and travel diary for a Eurail or Interrail trip is no longer needed. Travelers can explore 33 European countries with ease and enjoy more freedom than ever before. The mobile Pass can be purchased up to 11 months before the start of a trip and travelers can choose their start date once they are ready to travel. The passes are now exclusively available via the Eurail and Interrail webshops.
After purchase, the Eurail and Interrail mobile Global Pass can be added instantly to a mobile phone with the Rail Planner app. Travelers can plan their journey and keep track of their trips with the app. The mobile Pass also makes ticket inspection easier than ever. Instead of filling in the paper travel diary, pass owners simply add journeys from the app’s planner to their mobile Pass before boarding the train and show their mobile ticket to the inspector in just a few taps. The ticket inspector can validate the Pass by visually inspecting the journey and by scanning the barcode in the app.
As an introduction offer, all Eurail and Interrail mobile Passes purchased in September and October 2020 can be exchanged or refunded at no additional cost if travelers postpone or cancel their upcoming trip.* Additionally, non-European expats, students or young professionals under 28 years old can purchase the Eurail Youth mobile Pass with a 10% discount and explore a new home away from home. Further information can be found here.
Earlier this summer, Eurail, the company behind the Eurail and Interrail train Passes, successfully launched the Eurail and Interrail mobile Italy Pass. This is now followed by the Global mobile Passes. The mobile version of more One Country Passes will follow later this year. Currently, the new mobile Passes are exclusively available at the Eurail and Interrail webshops. The paper Pass remains available from the webshops, main train stations in Europe and other Eurail sales agents.
Carlo Boselli, General Manager at Eurail: “It is a first that travelers can use just one e-ticket for train travel that is valid in 33 countries, from Norway to Turkey and from Finland to Portugal. More than 35 European railway carriers contributed to make this complex project succeed. Travelers who want to discover Europe by train have an easier and more flexible way of doing so with the mobile Eurail and Interrail Passes.”
