How to use your travel days on night ferries

When travelling by night ferry (Superfast, Minoan or Blue Star Ferries), you must use a travel day and fill in the day of departure in your travel calendar. If you are still on this ferry after midnight, you only have to use a second travel day if you board a second ferry.

You don't have to use a travel day if you're travelling on a discounted ferry.

Please note that you cannot start your travel before the first day of validity on your Pass.

I want to make more than 4 domestic ferry trips in Greece. Is there a discount?

While using the Eurail Greek Islands Pass, you are entitled to buy separate tickets with a discount of 30% on all additional trips. Making use of this discount does not require the use of a travel day and can be done throughout the entire validity of the Pass. There is no limit on the number of times the discount can be used while your Pass is still valid.

Do I need anything besides my Greek Islands Pass to board the ferries?

Domestic routes: No, your e-boarding pass is included in your e-reservation. Therefore, you can hop on board the ferry by simply showing your e-boarding pass, and Eurail Greek Islands Pass

International routes: Yes, you will need a boarding pass for each ferry, which you can pick up by presenting your reservation at the embarkation port. On international routes, it's mandatory to pass through the port to show your passport or ID to the authorities.

We advise you to be at the port to board the ferry about two hours before departure.

If I want to travel in mainland Greece and the islands, do I have to buy 2 Passes?

Yes, the Eurail Greek Islands Pass only offers ferry trips to enjoy island hopping on the Greek Islands. If you would like to travel by train in mainland Greece or any other countries you should combine the Greek Islands Pass with an additional Pass that is valid for those countries.

Can I bring my children for free?

Yes, children aged 0-11 travel for free on the ferries. They have to be accompanied by an adult with a valid Eurail Greek Islands Pass at all times.
