Reservation fees for international trains

EuroCity Berlin-Warsaw / Gdynia Express (Germany, Poland)
 

Route: Berlin – Poznan – Warsaw and Berlin - Gdansk - Gdynia
Reservation mandatory.
Fees - 1st and 2nd  class: 4 euros

EuroCity (Germany, Austria, Italy (via Brennero))

Route: Munich - Innsbruck - Bolzano - Verona - Milan / Bologna / Venice

 

If you travel from/to/within Italy on this train you need to purchase a mandatory supplement. Reservations are optional.

 

Supplement fees:

  • 2nd class: €10
  • 1st class: €15

 

Reservation fees:

  • 2nd class: €6
  • 1st class: €6

 

Important:

You can also purchase this supplement on board the train (for a €5 fee).

Reservation fees:

  • Standard class: 30 euros
  • Standard Premier class: 38 euros

 

Reservation fees from London to Amsterdam:

  • Standard class: 35 euros
  • Standard premier class: 43 euros

 

Reservations for the Eurostar are compulsory. Travelers with a 2nd class Pass can only travel in Standard Class. Travelers with a 1st class Pass can travel in both classes. It's not possible to travel in Business Premier class with an Eurail Pass.

ICE (France, Germany)
 

Route: Frankfurt / Mannheim - Paris / Marseille / Stuttgart / Munich / Karlsruhe
Reservation compulsory only for international travel.
Fees - 1st class: 30 euros / 2nd class: 13 euros

If you travel 1st class before 9 AM, you'll get breakfast. Other services that re included are WiFi, fruit, coffee and  tea all day.

Reservations are mandatory for Thalys trains.

 

There are 3 types of seats on Thalys trains: Premium (1st class), Comfort (1st class) and Standard (2nd class).

 

Travelers with a 2nd class Pass can only access the 2nd class seats. Those with a 1st class Pass can travel in both 2nd and 1st class.

 

Seats are subject to availability. If there are no longer seats for Premium class, 1st class Pass holders will be offered a seat at Comfort class. For details and fares for other routes, visit the Thalys website.
